Our Anti-Marketing Promise

By Leo Babauta

We hate it when you buy something and then get a dozen more products sold to you (the “upsell”). I run the Zen Habits site, and you can see on my site that I am anti-marketing … no ads, and I don’t promote other people’s products, and try not to overpromote my own stuff.

Here’s what we promise regarding marketing and the Simple Fitness Habit, where I am a 50/50 partner:

1. We don’t do any upsells or additional marketing of further products.

2. We do plan to offer an optional subscription after your access period expires (3, 4, or 6 months, depending on the plan) … it’ll be at a fairly low cost like $6 or 7 … and you totally don’t need to do it if you don’t need it. We will offer it once, and there won’t be any pressure.

3. We have put together a group of experts, and we’re proud of this group … they all do their own products, and while we aren’t planning on promoting everyone’s products, we do provide a link to their sites/books in their contributions, and they might mention things they’re working on if they do a webinar. It’s not going to be a hard sell of their products … just a mention or a link to let you know where to find more from them.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, let us know.
